73% of people who buy flowers for Valentine’s Day are men, while only 27 per cent are women.

About 1 billion Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged each year. That’s the largest seasonal card-sending occasion of the year, next to Christmas.

About 3% of pet owners give Valentine’s Day gifts to their pets.

Thi Nguyen, 35-year-old Eldersburg woman, has been charged with sex crimes for allegedly engaging in sex with a 14-year-old boy. She faces counts of third-degree sex offense and sex abuse of a minor. Nguyen’s husband discovered information regarding the alleged sex and alerted police.

Police say the 14 year old Prince George’s County boy was staying with the Sykesville couple last summer to learn how to fix cars from Nguyen’s husband who is an auto mechanic. Some time later Nguyen’s husband discovered several photos and online chats between the teen and his wife. Those photos showed Nguyen and the teen together in the back seat of a car.

According to investigators 14 year old admitted to having sexual intercourse with Nguyen ten to 15 times.

A court date has yet to be set. Nguyen is currently out on bond but could face up to 45 years in prison is convicted.

Port-au-Prince: The 10 American missionaries, who were detained while trying to take 33 children out of Haiti, were charged with child abduction and criminal conspiracy. They were arrested at the border with the Dominic Republic.

The Haitian authorities believe that the missionaries were trying to smuggle the children out of the country without valid documents. Their cases would now be sent to an investigating judge who would decide how to proceed.

The missionaries have returned to a jail in the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince, where they have been held since their arrest last Friday. They are members of a Christian charity called New Life Children’s Refuge. The group was led by Laura Silsby.

Mumbai: Bollywood Actor, Abhishek Bachchan turned 34 today. Fans across the globe, wished him ‘Happy Birthday’ and more success in his personal and professional life. Abhishek is currently busy shooting his new Game Show, ‘Bingo’ on Colors TV.

On his 34th Birthday, Abhishek revealed that he wants to more films opposite his beloved wife, Aishwarya Rai. He cited two reasons behind his wish. First, he believed that he shares a good on-screen chemistry with Aishwarya and secondly, he will get more time to spend with his wife.

Karachi: Bomb Blast at Jinnah Hospital – Another blast has occurred at the JinnahHospital, where the dead and the injured of Shahra-e-Faisal blast were being shifted. According to Geo News, the blast has taken place at the Emergency gate of JinnahHospital.
The injured are new being rushed to other city’s hospital after the blast.

NEW YORK (Associated Press) – A New York City fourth-grader was sent to the principal’s office and nearly suspended for bringing a 2-inch toy gun to school.

Nine-year-old Patrick Timoney and a friend were playing with Legos in the cafeteria at Public School 52 in Staten Island on Tuesday when Patrick produced the tiny plastic machine gun and put it in the hands of a plastic police officer.

After Patrick’s mother got a call from the school, his parents met with the principal and persuaded her not to discipline him if he agreed to leave the toy gun at home.

The boy’s father, also named Patrick Timoney, says principal Evelyn Mastroianni “went overboard.”

Mastroianni did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment Thursday.
